Exploring the coastal waterways of Southern Patagonia, the Patagonia Sea Kayak Expedition will take you through some incredible places. Soaring peaks carved out in the last ice age and lush temperate rainforests, along with plentiful waterfalls, are just some of the sights you will see in your journey. The fjords are also rich with wildlife; we often see pods of dolphins, sea lions sunning themselves on the shores, as well as some of the deer native to the region. |
This expedition will also arm you with a range of paddling and backcountry skills so you can continue your paddling adventures in the future. Each expedition member will practice a variety of strokes and braces, group and self rescue, and backcountry hazard decision making. Traveling well in these unspoiled areas means practicing "Leave No Trace" principles, which will be an integrated part of how we operate during the trip. There will also be plenty of time to learn about the special flora and fauna of this region. A last, key component of this expedition will be learning to live with the Patagonian weather. Famous for its changeability and unpredictable nature, the weather will be a constant feature and will determine the shape of many of our days.
The Patagonia Sea Kayak Skills Expedition is truly the expedition of a lifetime. A wonderful experience combining outstanding scenery with learning some great skills.
